how to make Betty Crocker Pumpkin Bread

  • Preheat the Oven and Grease the Pan:
Put the oven to 180 degrees for 15 minutes to preheat it before you start preparing the bread mixture. Or you can preheat it to 350 degrees for 5-8 minutes. Also, don’t forget to grease the loaf pan with oil or butter.
Preheat the Oven and Grease the Pan
  • Mix Eggs and Sugar:
Keeping the egg yolk aside, beat the egg white and half of the sugar in an electric beater.   If you don’t have an electric beater, no problem; use a hand whisk at high speed. Then add the rest half of the sugar and whisk for another 2 minutes. Finally,  add the egg yolk and give it a good mix.
    Mix Eggs and Sugar
  • Add liquid Ingredients:
Then, add the pumpkin puree or cane pumpkin, vanilla essence, and oil into the mixing bowl. If you want to retain a good fruit flavor, you can use fruit essence instead of vanilla essence.
    Add liquid Ingredients
  • Add Dry Ingredients:
Next, add the dry ingredients one by one. Start with wheat flour or all-purpose flour, whatever you have. Add gradually, don’t just throw at once. Then salt, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder, and ground cinnamon powder. Lastly, a little cornflour for excellent binding. Then mix and make a smooth bread batter.
    Add Dry Ingredients
  • Add Dry Fruits:
Now add all the dry fruits ( raisins, chopped nuts) and ground cloves. These will take the bread flavor to another level, or you can say the main flavor of betty crocker comes by following this step. Give it a final mix and ensure each ingredient is mixed properly. Don’t smash them; just gently mix them.
    Add Dry Fruits
  • Bake the Bread:
Pour the bread mixture into the greased 9-inch loaf pan and give it a shake for a well spread. Then keep it on the baking tray and place the tray in the preheated oven. Bake it at 350 degrees for up to 70 minutes. When 70 minutes is up, give it a check with a toothpick. If it comes out without any wet residue ( clean), it means the bread is baked correctly. If not, bake for another five minutes.
    Bake the Bread
  • Take It Out And Serve It:
Take out the pan from the oven and leave it on the cooling rack to cool down for 10 minutes. Once it’s cool, slice and serve them as per your need.

Notes

  • Betty Crocker pumpkin bread can be stored for up to four days at room temperature and up to ten days in the refrigerator.

How To Store Pumpkin Bread

Having some leftovers can make you worry, as it seems some of your efforts will be wasted, but it’s not.

If you have some leftover pumpkin bread, you can serve it for up to 4 days without keeping it in the refrigerator. Just wrap the bread tightly, and it will be in good condition for up to four days.

And if you need more time, keep it in an airtight bag or air-tight container, and store it in the refrigerator for up to ten days.

Tips and tricks

  • Grease only the bottom of the pan for a gently rounded bread top. Side greasing will give you ridges loaf.
  • To get the best pumpkin flavor, use pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie.
  • Using wheat flour or gluten-free flour is best, but for a fluffy texture, use self-rising flour.
  • I have added lots of nuts for nutty and crust flavor; you can lower the amount or totally avoid it if you want.
  • Keep the oven rack at a low position to ensure heat is well distributed, and the whole bread is baking at the same heat.
