  • 200-gram mushrooms

  • 1 tbsp garlic

  • 1 medium yellow or white onion

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • Cut the mushrooms into thick slices: Let’s start by washing and cutting the mushroom. Take 200-gram mushrooms and cut them into thick slices.

  • Chopped onion, garlic, and parsley: Finely chop garlic, onion, and parsley.

  • Cook the mushrooms: Add olive oil into a pan on low heat. To infuse the oil lightly, add two cloves of crushed garlic. Now add the chopped onion and saute them. After 1 minute, add 1 tbsp salted or unsalted butter. Then take out the garlic cloves and add mushrooms. To develop the flavor, saute the mushrooms for 10 to 15 minutes. When the mushrooms turn brown, add minced garlic. Saute them all until fragrant.

  • Add chicken broth: In this step, you need to add 1 cup of chicken/vegetable broth. Stir them a little bit. Taste the mix and season them with a little bit of pepper and salt.

  • Add parsley and oregano: Add 1 tbsp dried oregano and finely chopped parsley. Simmer them until the flavors are released into the sauce. It may need 10 minutes.

  • Add heavy cream: Add 1/3 cup of heavy cream and mix them well. Add heavy cream
  •  Add cheese to the sauce: Grate parmesan cheese and add 1/3 cup to the sauce. Mix the cheese until they are combined with the sauce and become creamy. Then add the leftover parsley and mix them well.

  1. This does not remind me of the Texas Roadhouse mushroom sauce I was looking for, but maybe that’s a regional thing. Either way, it was absolutely delicious and smells amazing! It’s also one of those very mellow recipes that lets me enjoy cooking.
    I will point out one question I had about direction. In step 5 it says to add the parsley, and in step 7 to add the leftover parsley. How much do you add in step 5? I just went for 1/2-1/2.
