PF Chang’s is one of our favorite restaurants and I love how flavorful the rice is and how there are little veggie nibbles throughout!

P.F. Chang’s Crab Fried Rice is one of the most popular menu items at the restaurant chain, and it is a straightforward and authentic meal. The meal is composed of veggies and diced jumbo lump crab meat, which is mixed in a light soy sauce, garlic, and ginger sauce before being served. A few simple ingredients and a little time are all you need to make this recipe at home.

So, without further ado, let’s get to the recipe!


  • 1 cup Jasmine rice

  • 1 3/4 cup chicken broth or water

  • Crabmeat (As much as you like)

  • 3 tsp sesame/sunflower/vegetable oil/canola oil

  • 2 fresh eggs

  • 1/3 cup carrots and 1/3 cup frozen peas

  • 1/4 cup green onion sliced

  • 1/3 cup fresh bean sprouts

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • Minced garlic

  • Tools
  • Stir Fry Pan or Wok

Steps – PF Chang’s Crab Fried Rice Recipe

  • First boil the rice: Preferably, at least 80 percent of your fine rice will need to be boiled before you can proceed. This will ensure that the rice does not become overcooked when you are frying them. Although any type of rice will suffice, try to choose jasmine rice whenever possible. With its lovely scent and flavor, jasmine rice will enhance the overall flavor of your fried rice dish and make it even more delicious.

  • Fry the Eggs: Now take a big wok or you can use a stir fry pan if you don’t have a wok. Place the wok on high heat and pour 1 tablespoon of oil into it. Wait until the oil starts to smoke and then crack two fresh eggs in the pan. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the eggs. Fry it thoroughly and flip it over. Cut the eggs into small pieces using a long spoon. Once the eggs are cooked through, remove them from the pan and set them aside.

  • Fry the Crab meats: Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet and thoroughly fry the crab meats until they are cooked through. Season with a bit of salt and pepper to taste. The crabs should be fried for two minutes, or until they are a little brownish and have absorbed all of the oil. It is simple to find fresh crab flesh in your neighborhood seafood market. To avoid mushy texture, I recommend that you stay away from canned meats and sausages. It is preferable to pick up the fresh produce only once.

  •  Fry Carrots and Peas: It’s time to add some bright color to your dish. Fry some diced carrots and peas into the pan on medium-high heat. Add a little salt to it. It’s best to get some fresh carrot and peas but you can also consider the frozen one. After frying set them aside.

  • Fry the Rice: In the pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Set the stove to high heat and cook the minced garlic until it becomes fragrant. Season the pan with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cooked rice should be added to the pan after 1 minute. Stir quickly, and continue to stir until the rice is well browned and crispy.

  • Add all the ingredients and mix them up!: After the rice starts to make that small popping sound, it’s time to combine it with all of the fried vegetables, eggs, and crab. Add all of the ingredients one at a time, stirring constantly, until everything is well combined.

  •  Add soya sauce and chopped Green Onions: As of now, all your ingredients are finely cooked. It’s time to add some soya sauce and green onions into the rice. After adding give it a nice stir. Don’t overcook the onions as you will love them a little crunchy and it will add a little extra power to your fried rice.
