  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder

  • Mixing jug

  • Rolling pin

  • Ziplock bag

  • Serving tray

Steps TO MAKE Honey Garlic Chicken Breast

  • Pounding The Chicken Breast: Place your chicken breast inside a zip lock bag or just wrap it with wrapping paper. Using anything heavy like a rolling pin, mallet, pestle, or even a wine bottle will also do the work. Use it and beat the chicken breast for a minute. This will make the chicken breast tender and will also help to release your stress.Pounding The Chicken Breast
  •  Sauce Preparation:Take 5 garlic cloves, finely mince them, and keep them aside. In a jug, pour ¼ cup of honey, ¼ cup of light soy sauce, and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Now give it a good mix and keep it aside.Sauce Preparation
  • Mix The Coating: In a large and wide mixing bowl, we will mix the coating so we can easily coat the chicken. Add ½  cup of all-purpose flour, one tablespoon of garlic powder, one teaspoon of chili flakes ( i add one tablespoon to make them a little spicey), and one teaspoon of salt.
Give it a good mix, and the coating is ready.Mix The Coating
  • Coat Chicken Breast: Take your pounded chicken breast one by one and dip them in the mixed coating. Cover them with coating and ensure not even a dot is left without the coating. Take them out, shake them to get rid of excess flour, and keep them aside.Coat Chicken Breast
  • Fry The Chicken Breast: Put an iron skillet or frypan on the stove, turn it on, and set the heat on high flame. Add three tablespoons of regular oil. We will just fry the chicken; not deep fry them. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium-low and place the chicken breast with enough space. In a few minutes, flip the chicken and fry the other side. Keep flipping and frying until the chicken breast turns golden brown and is thoroughly cooked. Once done, take them out on a plate lined with tissue paper or on top of a cooling rack. Let them chill for a few minutes.Fry The Chicken Breast
  • Cook The Sauce: Remove the excess fat and pour two tablespoons of butter into it. Wait until the butter melts, then add the minced garlic, and fry for 30 seconds until it leaves a fragment. Pour the mixed sauce, and add ¼ cup of chicken broth or chicken stock. Give it a good mix and cook until it gets thick enough; it will take 10-12 minutes to get thick.Cook The Sauce
  • Add Fried Chicken Breast: Now that the sauce is ready, we must add fried chicken. Add them and cook for a minute, then flip and cook for another minute. Cover the pan and turn off the stove. Let the chicken sit in the sauce for five minutes.Add Fried Chicken Breast
  • Garnish: The honey garlic chicken breast is almost ready to serve. Now if you want you can serve them as they are, or garnish them with some toasted sesame and chopped green onions as I do. Don’t forget to pour some sauce on top of the chicken breast.Garnish
  •  Serve: Serve this honey garlic chicken breast with fried rice or cauliflower rice. Just because it has soy sauce, don’t think it will taste Asian-Y. This juicy chicken breast can be a good pair of mac and cheese, or macaroni as well. My kids love them with macaroni, and I prefer them with cucumber salad.Serve

How To Store Honey Garlic Chicken Breast

It’s always best to enjoy any dish when freshly made, but it doesn’t mean wasting food. If you have some leftovers, store them for later use, wasting is not good. And this is also helpful if you don’t get so much time on weekdays.

Make this honey garlic chicken breast and just reheat it whenever you want to eat and enjoy.

Transfer the chicken breast with the sauce into an airtight container. It’s always best to use a glass container/jar for storing leftovers.

Then secure it tightly and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. And for more days, keep the chicken breast in a ziplock bag and store it in the fridge for up to 2 months.

Whenever you want to eat, thaw them overnight or for 2-3 hours, reheat them in the oven for 2 minutes, and it’s ready to serve.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t cut the chicken breast in half to make them thinner. Pound them just like I said, this will make the chicken breast tender as well as make them crusty as well.
  • If your chicken breast turns darker after adding it to the sauce, use cornstarch or cornflour instead of all-purpose flour.
  • Avoid using dark soy sauce, it will ruin the honey garlic chicken breast taste. You can also use coconut aminos instead of light soy sauce, but not dark soy sauce.
  • Coat the chicken breast finely with the flour mix, this will ensure the chicken has a better crust.
  • Don’t crowd in the pan, keep enough space to let them fry evenly. And keep flipping in a few minutes.
