Traditional, simple, and delicious Italian custard is called panna cotta. I’ve included a Gordon Ramsay recipe because it’s easy and ideal for beginners. There are many panna cotta recipes, but this one is definitely the best. It looked and tasted similar to my first panna cotta in Rome.

You can serve it chilled with pomegranate or fresh raspberries on top. So there will be no further delay. let’s get into the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml milk

  • 250 ml cream

  • 50-gram caster sugar

  • 3 gelatin leaves

  • A splash of rum (optional)

  • 1 cup pomegranate juice

  • 2 tablespoons of caster sugar

  • Chocolate shaving

  • Tools
  • Saucepan

  • Spatula

  • Nonstick pan

  • Hand whisk

  • Jug

  • Strainer

  • Glasses

  • Fridge

Instruction

  • Cook The Milk, Sugar, and Cream: Turn on the stove, and put a depth saucepan on top of it. Add 250 ml full cream, 50 ml milk, and 50-gram caster sugar. Now keep stirring continuously until everything is mixed properly and comes to a boil.
Cook The Milk, Sugar, and Cream
  • Add Rum: This step is totally optional, I am going to avoid this step as I don’t like rum. But if you like add a splash of rum and it’s done. Remove the saucepan from the stove.
    Add Rum
  • Add Gelatin: Gelatin is an important part of panna cotta. Here we will use soaked gelatin, so before you start making this dish, soak the gelatin and then start. Take the gelatin leaves in your hand, squeeze and add them to the milk mixture.
    Add Gelatin
  • Mix: Take a hand whisk and whisk continuously until the gelatin dissolves. Once the gelatin is mixed with the mixer, you will get a smooth, silky, and thick mixture.
    Mix
  • Pour Into Glass: Don’t be late; once the mixture is ready, take a jug, place a strainer on top of it and pour the mixture. Now take the glasses you want to set the panna cotta in and pour the mixture.
    Pour Into Glass
  • Rest: After pouring the mixture, now keep the glasses in a safe place to cool down; once it’s at room temperature, keep them in the fridge and let them chill for up to 4 hours.
    Rest
  •  Make Pomegranate Glaze: Make this glaze once the panna cotta is set, not before that. Put a non-stick pan on top of the stove, and set the heat at medium-low. Pour 1 cup of pomegranate juice and 2 tablespoons of caster sugar. Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves, and it gets thick enough.
    Make Pomegranate Glaze
  •  Add The Glaze: Once the glaze is ready, transfer it into a jug. Take out the panna cotta glasses, and pour the glaze on top. Let it set for a few minutes, and then keep it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
    Add The Glaze
  • Garnish: Once the glaze is set, it’s time to garnish the panna cotta. You can garnish it with fresh fruits like raspberry or chocolate shavings. I love chocolate, so that I will sprinkle some shaved chocolate.
    Garnish
  •  Serve: After garnishing, you can serve your Panna cotta to your guest or enjoy yourself. If you want to serve it later, store it in the refrigerator after glazing, and garnish it just before you serve.
